Guinness World Records has named THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL “Most Popular Daytime TV Soap - Current.” A Guinness World Records Adjudicator presented Emmy Award-winning Executive Producer and Head Writer, Bradley P. Bell, and the Cast, with the certification of this coveted distinction on Stage 31 of CBS Television City, where the series has taped since its inception in March, 1987. Well, at least that’s what we’re predicting. On Tuesday, multi-platinum reggaetonero Daddy Yankee, fresh off the release of his new album Mundial, made his debut on the CBS soap The Bold And The Beautiful. If you missed it, don’t worry because his arc spans five episodes. That’s right: Five.

“Daddy Yankee’s hypnotic thump is the perfect intoxicating elixir to entice some of the characters into doing things they might not ordinarily do,” says Emmy-winning Executive Producer and Head Writer Bradley P. Bell. “The consequences for the Forrester family will be devastating, leading to some of the series’ most dramatic situations yet.”

Besides flexing his English skills, DY also uses the opportunity to plug his new song “Grito Mundial,” which is one of our unofficial World Cup anthems. Unconvinced? We only need to remind you that DY did break box office records in his native Puerto Rico in 2008 with his 8 Mile-like acting debut, Talento de Barrio.

Daddy, who has two movies in the pipeline (including Pleasant Avenue, in which he’ll play a boxer), is extremely excited about his on-screen career. As he recently told Terra.com: “Acting has become part of my job.”

Miami, FL – June 1, 2010 – Today marks a great day for Grammy award winning superstar Daddy Yankee. His highly anticipated debut on the Emmy®-Award winning THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL will begin airing today. And that’s not all! The five-episode story arc will air on the CBS Television Network from today, June 1 to Monday, June 7, 2010. The bold and spicy story includes Daddy Yankee’s pulsating Latin Urban rhythms as a catalyst for some of the characters’ most shocking behaviors yet.

Spanish-speaking viewers are encouraged to watch the episodes in Spanish, simply by pressing the SAP button on their remote control. THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL is the only American daytime drama simulcast in English in Spanish using SAP (Secondary Audio Programming) technology.

“The story takes place during a raucous party full of young people who are ready to take a break from the scholarly pursuits of high school. Para su participación en la telenovela estadounidense The Bold and The Beautiful, el boricua Daddy Yankee tuvo que trabajar doble, pues además de grabar en inglés, también realizó la versión en español de sus líneas, que puede verse y escucharse al activar un sistema especial en las televisiones.

La participación del intérprete de Descontrol se grabó en abril, y durante su transmisión se podrá ver cómo, dentro del argumento, el reggaetonero viaja a Los Ángeles para grabar un videoclip.

Los capítulos en los que aparece Daddy Yankee serán transmitidos en Estados Unidos esta semana, y durarán una semana.

Esto fue como parte del doblaje que hizo al español de su participación como él mismo en la telenovela anglohablante The Bold and The Beautiful, de la cadena CBS, que grabó en abril. La traducción en español se puede escuchar al activar el sistema SAP en el televisor.

“Yo decidí hacer el dubbing [doblaje]. Imagínate si otra persona lo graba por mí, sería cómico”, dijo el cantante minutos antes de meterse al estudio de grabación Point 360 de Burbank para iniciar su jornada laboral.
