Guinness World Records has named THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL “Most Popular Daytime TV Soap - Current.” A Guinness World Records Adjudicator presented Emmy Award-winning Executive Producer and Head Writer, Bradley P. Bell, and the Cast, with the certification of this coveted distinction on Stage 31 of CBS Television City, where the series has taped since its inception in March, 1987. Well, at least that’s what we’re predicting. On Tuesday, multi-platinum reggaetonero Daddy Yankee, fresh off the release of his new album Mundial, made his debut on the CBS soap The Bold And The Beautiful. If you missed it, don’t worry because his arc spans five episodes. That’s right: Five.

“Daddy Yankee’s hypnotic thump is the perfect intoxicating elixir to entice some of the characters into doing things they might not ordinarily do,” says Emmy-winning Executive Producer and Head Writer Bradley P. Bell. “The consequences for the Forrester family will be devastating, leading to some of the series’ most dramatic situations yet.”

Besides flexing his English skills, DY also uses the opportunity to plug his new song “Grito Mundial,” which is one of our unofficial World Cup anthems. Unconvinced? We only need to remind you that DY did break box office records in his native Puerto Rico in 2008 with his 8 Mile-like acting debut, Talento de Barrio.

Daddy, who has two movies in the pipeline (including Pleasant Avenue, in which he’ll play a boxer), is extremely excited about his on-screen career. As he recently told Terra.com: “Acting has become part of my job.”

Para su participación en la telenovela estadounidense The Bold and The Beautiful, el boricua Daddy Yankee tuvo que trabajar doble, pues además de grabar en inglés, también realizó la versión en español de sus líneas, que puede verse y escucharse al activar un sistema especial en las televisiones.

La participación del intérprete de Descontrol se grabó en abril, y durante su transmisión se podrá ver cómo, dentro del argumento, el reggaetonero viaja a Los Ángeles para grabar un videoclip.

Los capítulos en los que aparece Daddy Yankee serán transmitidos en Estados Unidos esta semana, y durarán una semana.

Daddy Yankee is adding some spice to the hit daytime series, The Bold And The Beautiful.

Starting today (June 1st) until June 7th, soap fans can enjoy El Cangri in both English and Spanish. Just hit the SAP (Secondary Audio Programming) button on your remote control and you’ll be able to hear Daddy (who recorded his voice for the Spanish simulcast) en Español!

So how does the reggaeton star end up partying with the show’s staple characters?

Turns out Daddy’s “business manager,” Dempsey (played by DJ Tony Okungbowa from The Ellen DeGeneres Show), gets him a gig at Hope Logan’s high school graduation party!

Recordar es vivir. De eso no hay duda tras el espectáculo con el que El Nuevo Día celebró anoche cuatro décadas de existencia.

Con un programa lleno de artistas y repleto de referencias históricas, miles de personas disfrutaron de un concierto único en su clase. Para poner en contexto al homenajeado de la noche, el periódico que ahora lees, todo comenzó con un repaso de eventos noticiosos. En una de tres pantallas gigantes que hacía las veces de una enorme portada del diario se mostraron sucesos relacionados con el líder político Nelson Mandela, la sección 936, algunos de los ex gobernadores y Marisol Malaret como nuestra primera Miss Universo.

Una de las mayores ovaciones se la llevó Daddy Yankee, quien tuvo una explosiva participación que los presentes gozaron de pie, subiendo y bajando al ritmo de sus temas.
